NGĀ MĀHURI O TE WAOKU

21 May - 1 July 2019 | Rotary Foyer

Palmerston North artist Tanu Aumua's latest exhibition 'Ngā Māhuri o te Waoku' employs the metaphorical richness of te reo Māori to incite debate on language value and revitalisation. The objective of this project is to provide a platform for engaging discussion on the merits of language revitalisation and the importance of Te Aho Matua (governing principals behind Māori language schools) as a framework for elevating te reo Māori.
