This accompanying exhibition offers a small sampling of modern art in the 1970's and includes works by some of the most significant artists in New Zealand's art history such as; Don Binney, Michael Illingworth, Colin McCahon, Milan Mrkusich, Michael Smither, Gordon Walters and Toss Woollaston.
The name Peter McLeavey is often associated with this collection of artists who have had longstanding representation at his iconic Cuba Street gallery in Wellington. The Man in the Hat; Portrait of a Dealer documentary offers an intimate history of Peter McLeavey, his gallery, artists and the city he lives in.
