New York based Australian artist Tracey Moffatt is a highly regarded artist on the international scene. Of Aboriginal descent, Moffatt focuses on themes of the other, the unknown, the outcast, and the marginal.

Drawing from cinema, television and photography, she creates ironic video montages which reveal the complex interweaving of human relationships, forged by ethnic, social, and gender differences. In Other, Moffatt twists Hollywood imagery of colonial conquest and exotic natives in a humorous and sexy response to ethnic hierarchies and stereotypes.
