CLARE DERBY & JOHN MORRISON
Thursday 24 & 31 May | 12.30pm
Expressions Arts & Entertainment Centre is celebrating New Zealand Music Month with free lunchtime concerts every Thursday at 12.30pm for the month of May.
Clare Derby and John Morrison, two of Upper Hutt's most experienced and accomplished pianists will be performing live in the Rotary Foyer at Expressions.
Expressions is excited to bring this special coupling of Clare and John togethee. Each has a deep admiration for the other and when they come together have a wonderful rapport. "To play with John is a privilege and a pleasure" says Clare.
The main feature of these perfomances will be duets that promise to be relaxed, fun and informal. The public will be entertained with old time musical and show hits, there will be plenty of pre-loved popular songs to get your toes tapping. Expect plenty of action, laughter and a few discussions as to which end of the piano they feel like playing.
John Morrison is a pianist, a top accompanist, broadcaster and organist. Clare Derby is mostly known as a Classical pianist; she is also a trustee of Expressions and describes herself as a passionate piano campaigner.
Both John and Clare have received awards including Civil Awards from Upper Hutt City and last week Clare received the Queens Service Medal for services to music.
