BOOMERS BEHAVING BADLY
Friday 8 June | 7.30pm
Jane Keller presents her fabulous one-woman cabaret show which focuses on baby boomers and what they are getting up to. Cougars on the prowl, grandchildren from hell, divorce parties, Botox botch-ups, middle-age revenge porn, internet dating successes and tragedies… Combining her special style of storytelling with her virtuoso Broadway voice, and piano accompaniment from Michael Nicholas Williams, Jane tells tales in an evening of shock, tittle-tattle and raucous hilarity.
Sunday 22 July | 2pm
It's Christmas Day and Irene McMunn is throwing a party! While she prepares, she regales us with stories of her past. Silent Night is a universal story of loss, love and stoic survival, and Irene McMunn represents the iconic New Zealand woman who came of age between the wars. Laced with plenty of humour and a set full of nostalgic paraphernalia, Silent Night celebrates a fast disappearing facet of our cultural heritage.
DO OR DI?
Friday 5 October | 7:30pm
Herschel Herscher hosts this fun-filled musical event. Add singers Anna Rugis and Linn Lorkin and you have a top professional vocal trio. This fabulous fifties television game show spoof showcases the trio's comedic and musical talents. Wonderful singing and jazzy instrumental arrangements are applied to the hits of Doris Day and Dinah Shore while the audience guesses which diva was the hit-maker!
HOME - ONE THREAD IN THE STORY OF A NATION
Sunday 4 November | 2pm
Since the first contact between Maori and Pakeha, blankets have played a central role in our lives. In Home, blankets provide the backdrop to the story of Maggie and Johnny, two Scottish immigrants who meet and marry just before WWI, and Johnny's departure for the Front. A superb piece of musical theatre, Home is written and directed by Jacqueline Coats and features Stuart Coats and Rowena Simpson.
