THE JAZZ GALA: AMERICAN ALL STARS WITH THE RODGER FOX BIG BAND

Friday 2 June 2017 | 8pm

A star spangled night from the USA featuring Tony Lindsay, the lead vocalist for the group Santana who has garnered 11 Grammy Awards®. Tony based in San Francisco, first toured with SANTANA in 1991 and can be heard on the 1992 release, Milagro. When not touring with SANTANA, he sings for Spang-a-Lang, a local R&B/Jazz/Pop group he founded that has opened for several well-known acts, including Curtis Mayfield, Jr. Walker, Tower of Power, and Average White Band, to name a few. As an individual, Tony has recorded or performed with several artists, including Tevin Campbell, O'Jays, Al Jarreau, Steve Winwood, Johnny Gill, Teddy Pendergrass, Aretha Franklin, and Lou Rawls.

He is joined by drummer Dave Weckl, a jazz fusion drummer who performs with Chick Corea Electric Band and Mike Stern Trio, Los Angeles based saxophonist Adam Schroeder and Alex Sipiagin - who has performed with Dave Holland, Michael Brecker, and the Mingus groups on trumpet. They will be performing with Rodger Fox and The Rodger Fox Big Band in a night to be remembered.
