Whether you are an emerging or an established artist in the greater Wellington region, this is a great opportunity to submit your work for selection by a panel of judges. Original work in any medium can be entered as long as the piece has been completed in the last 12 months by artists living and working in the Wellington Region (includes Wairarapa and Kapiti).

Entries will be selected by an independent panel of judges and exhibited in the Mount Marua Gallery. Prizes awarded include an overall prize winner of $1000, two Merit Awards of $250 and the People's Choice Award prize of an exhibition at Expressions.

Exhibition opening function at Expressions, 7pm. All entrants welcome regardless of selection outcome.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

ELIGIBLE WORK:

Any original work in any medium, completed in the last twelve months by any artist living and working in the Greater Wellington Region. No work previously exhibited at Expressions will be included in the exhibition.

ENTRIES

One work per artist may be submitted.

ACCEPTANCE OF WORKS

(a) No wet artworks or works that may emit offensive odours or degrade over the course of the exhibition period will be accepted.

(b) All works will be subject to selection. The decisions of the selection/judging panel are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

(d) Work selected for this Review must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition.

ENTRY FEE

$10 per entry. No refund will be given

LABELLING

Each work must be clearly identified on the work with the artist's name, address, telephone number, title and sale price of work. The swing tag on the entry form must be completed and attached to the bottom left corner of the work. Any work that isn't labelled correctly will not be eligible for selection. All packaging must be labelled with the artist name and contact number.

PRESENTATION

Each entry must be presented in a manner that facilitates straight forward presentation ie. framed where appropriate and with D rings attached to the work for hanging. All works with an electrical component must be accompanied by a current Safety Certificate from a Master Electrician. Where Expressions has concerns as to safety, security, size or exhibition issues with a specific work this will be discussed with the artist if the work needs to be withdrawn. Because of spatial constraints large installations may not be accepted.

COPYRIGHT/IMAGES

While Expressions will endeavour to protect copyright, work is submitted at the artist's own risk. Any work received into the exhibition may be used for promotional purposes by Expressions.

FREIGHT

Artists not delivering/collecting their work in person must pack their work in a manner that facilitates straight forward return packaging. Freight costs to and from Expressions must be met by the artist.

RECEIVING DATE AND LOCATION

Each work must be delivered to Expressions, 836 Fergusson Drive, Upper Hutt between Tuesday 17 and Sunday 22 June, 9.30am and 4pm. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.

NOTIFICATION

All entrants will only be notified by phone and/or email if they have NOT been successful in the selection process by Thursday 26 June 2014.

SALE OF ARTWORKS

Sale price of the work must include the payment to the artist plus Expressions commission (25% + GST). Payment for all sold works will be made on 20 September 2014. If a work is not available for sale, please indicate by entering NFS as the sale price.

COLLECTION OF WORKS

(a) Collection of work by anyone other than the artist must be authorised in writing by the artist.

(b) Unselected work must be collected between Tuesday 1 July and Sunday 6 July, between 9.30am and 4pm.

(c) At the conclusion of the exhibition work must be collected between Tuesday 12 August and Sunday 17 August between 9.30am and 4pm.

RESPONSIBILITY

The responsibility for the insurance for work submitted by or on behalf of an artist (including while in transit) is with the artist or his/her agent. Expressions does not act as an agent for any artist. Expressions will take all reasonable care with the work, but shall not be liable under any circumstance whatsoever for damage caused to any work irrespective of how that damage is caused, while the work is: in transit between the artist and Expressions, or under the control of Expressions.
