Helen is a Wellington-based artist and has been drawing and painting for over 40 years. She has studied art in Auckland and Wellington and is a member of the Academy of Fine Arts. With a background in Science and Mathematics, Helen uses aspects of this to interpret the wonderful land and life forms that Aotearoa is home to.

Painting in a variety of styles and media, she enjoys including both detailed and stylised images within a piece. Both realistic and abstract forms along with different levels of view are combined in many of her works.

Helen’s work has featured in many exhibitions nationwide with many of her recently exhibited pieces focusing on New Zealand animal life and associated plants.

‘Memory Wheels’ are an example of a blend of geometry and remembered imagery through repeating images of the enduring objects from places visited and enjoyed.
