When booking your tickets for a show or event at Whirinaki Whare Taonga please advise of any special requirements you may have. We like to ensure your visit to Whirinaki Whare Taonga is an enjoyable experience.
We offer a wheelchair for public use in the art galleries and theatre, please advise a staff member should you require to use it.
Wheelchair Seating in the Gillies Group Theatre
We have two seats available with wheelchair access, these must be requested when making your bookings with us.
A lift is available between the ground floor foyer and Gillies Group Theatre which his located on level two.
Accessible Toilets
Two unisex accessible toilets are located on the ground floor of the Rotary Foyer.
An accessible toilet and shower is available for performers at stage level back of house.
Hearing Loop
We have a hearing loop operating in the theatre for the hearing impaired, please advise a staff member if you are experiencing any difficulty.
Guide Dogs
Official guide dogs are welcome throughout the facility.
Accessible Parking
The closest accessible carparks are located 50 metres along Fergusson Drive in front of the library.
Further accessible carparks are available in the main rear carpark in front of the aquatic centre.
Please be aware that at this stage there is a curb to be navigated at the drop off bay in front of the Council administration building 20 metres from Whirinaki Whare Taonga's front entrance.
