"It is the communication of a shared vision that lifts them above the ordinary" - John Fenton, Jazzlocal 32

Antipodes is a quintet of musicians from Sydney and Te Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington that playfully moves between the arty, cerebral and the folksy, earthy elements of jazz and improvised music. Sometimes delicate and considered, sometimes brawny and muscular, the intent that brings their performances together is a commitment to the song: each composition is a glistening artefact that is brought to life by the ensemble.

Originally formed in Berlin and drawing influences from New York to Stockholm, Antipodes has, over 10 years of touring and recording, forged their own identity: a unique triptych of North American, Northern European, and South Pacific sounds that captivates audiences, offering them a shared journey into their dreamlike and evocative co-creations.
