Upcoming Performances:
Wayne Mason
Friday 14 February | 5.00pm - 8.00pm
NZ Music Hall of Fame Inductee, and member of the NZ order of merit for services to NZ music, Wayne Mason, is a musician that needs no hyperbole to attract an audience. We are honoured to host Wayne as the second feature artist of our 2025 LNSB season. Wayne is a living treasure of NZ musical performance, and famously, a hometown hero of Upper Hutt extraction. Indeed - he could be said to be a true Taonga of Whirinaki. Join us as he plays an intimate solo concert of repertoire from his 60+ year career in music.
Burgin, Kerr and Norman
Friday 21 February | 5.00pm - 8.00pm
Irishman Andrew Kerr (ex. Jacky Tar) and Alan Norman (The Warratahs, The Rag Poets) have been playing as a duo for many years. They have recently expanded to a trio and are joined by Paddy Burgin (The Wooden Box Band, The Zimmermans), and his magical guitars, on a more permanent basis. Paddy, a world-renowned luthier, was a member of The Scarborough Connection, who featured on Andrew and Alan’s critically acclaimed 2023 release ‘For the Record.’
A swampy melting pot of country, folk, americana and blues, they combine a mutual love of story-telling and rhythmic grooves with narratives about the human experience. They perform predominantly original material, with contributions from each member, calling on a wide range of instrumentation including piano, acoustic and Weissenborn guitars, accordion, bodhran, and percussion.
