Staglands presents

Life & Rhymes of Banjo Paterson

This show will take place at Staglands Wildlife Reserve, 2362 Akatarawa Road, Upper Hutt

Saturday 6 December | 7pm

Discovered wandering in the Blue Mountains, Gregory North is a man of many hats who will have you wondering which voice is really his. Known for his rendition of The Man from Snowy River and his adventures with sticky tape, this three-time Australian bush poetry champion brings characters to life whenever he performs.

A confirmed Banjo Paterson tragic, he’s written two books on Banjo and recorded a double album of Banjo’s poetry. Since 2017 he’s been performing the “Life and Rhymes of Banjo Paterson” show in Winton, Queensland where Banjo wrote the Australian unofficial national anthem, Waltzing Matilda.

The 125th anniversary re-enactment of Banjo Paterson’s Boer War lecture tour will begin in September 2025 and conclude in May 2026. Greg will visit places where Banjo presented as near as possible to the same date 125 years later. Beginning in Sydney, he’ll travel through New South Wales, to Adelaide, Tasmania, New Zealand, Queensland and back to New South Wales.

Audiences can expect  a show that is rich in nostalgia, laughter, and lyrical beauty, NOT a Boer War lecture, and is a must-see for any Banjo Paterson Fan!

The two-hour show will include an interval where food and drinks will be available to purchase.
